Michael (Mickey) Deweese brings a
wealth of real-world experience to the classroom with his 20+
years of appraising and real estate work. Mickey has been
a real estate broker since 1990 and has held his Certified
Residential Real Estate Appraiser license since 1998. He
has also been a member of the Realtor Association of Southern
Kentucky since 2005. Mickey was President of
the Franklin-Simpson Board of Realtors for a number of years, during
which he also obtained the distinction of Realtor of the Year.
He also was appointed as commissioner of the Franklin-Simpson
Planning & Zoning Commission and during his tenure the board adopted
the first comprehensive plan for the Franklin-Simpson area.
During his career in real
estate, Mickey has also been directly involved in residential,
commercial and industrial construction - including the
development of commercial properties for shopping centers.
Another accomplishment that Mickey
takes pride in is his online subscription-driven database that
he created when, freshly into his real estate career, he saw the
need to have information about land transactions available at
his fingertips. This online information publication was
started in 1990 and still carries some of its original
subscribers.
Mickey has thoroughly enjoyed
each phase of his real estate career and this comes through in
the classroom as he shares his experience with his students.
Mickey holds a B.S. in
Business from Western Kentucky University and has completed
post-graduate work in the field of Exercise Science.
